How to set up VPNPower for Windows 10

This tutorial guide will walk you through the steps to manually set up a VPNPower VPN for Windows 10.


Find your VPNPower account credentials

In order to use VPNPower with Windows 10 you will need to set up a new VPN connection. To set up a VPN connection, you will need a server address and your user name and password. This section of the tutorial will show you how to find all of this information.

Open the Welcome Email you received when you signed up for VPNPower.

Add a new VPN connection

To add a new VPN connection, click the Start Button and then click on Settings.

Next, click Network and Internet.

Next, click VPN on the left side, then Add a VPN connection.

The VPN settings are straightforward to fill in.

  1. VPN Provider: Windows (build-in)
  2. Connection Name: we recommend using the format of Country City SSTP VPNPower format.
  3. Server name or address: choose the VPN server to connect to from the following list:australia-sydney.vpnpower.net
    france-paris.vpnpower.net
    germany-frankfurt.vpnpower.net
    japan-tokyo.vpnpower.net
    netherlands-amsterdam.vpnpower.net
    singapore-singapore.vpnpower.net
    uk-london.vpnpower.net
    usa-chicago.vpnpower.net
    usa-losangeles.vpnpower.net
    usa-newyork.vpnpower.net
  4. VPN Type: Choose Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol (SSTP).
  5. Type of sign-in info: choose Username and password.
  6. Username: put the username (your email address) from your Welcome Email.
  7. Password: put the password from your Welcome Email.
  8. Click Save.

Connect to a VPN server

Before you connect you can go to http://www.whatismyip.com to check your current IP.

Now that you are back at the VPN list click Connect on the VPN.  In a few moments it will say Connected.

You can go to http://www.whatismyip.com to see that your IP has changed to the country you connected to.

Disconnect from a VPN server

To disconnect from the VPN server, go to Settings > Network & Internet > VPN > [name of VPN connection] > Disconnect.
