How to set up VPNPower for Android

This tutorial guide will walk you through the steps to manually set up a VPNPower VPN for Android.


Find your VPNPower account credentials

To start using VPNPower for Android you will need to set up a new VPN connection. To set up a VPN connection, you will need a server address and your user name and password. This section of the tutorial will show you how to find all of this information.

Open the Welcome Email you received when you signed up for VPNPower.

Add a new VPN connection

To add a new VPN connection, tap on Settings. Under Wireless & Networks tap on More…

Next, tap on VPN.  Click the ‘+’

The VPN settings are straightforward to fill in.

  1. Name: we recommend using the format of <City> VPNPower format.
  2. Type: L2TP/IPSec PSK
  3. Server address: choose a VPN server from the list below and type it in.

netherlands-amsterdam.vpnpower.net

usa-newyork.vpnpower.net

  1. L2TP secret: (not used)
  2. IPSec identifier: (not used)
  3. IPSec pre-shared key: type in vpnpower (all lowercase).
  4. Click Save (lower right).

 

Tap on your new VPN and input your Username and Password from your Welcome Email.

Connect to a VPN server

Before you connect you can go to http://www.whatismyip.com to check your current IP.

On the VPN list tap on the VPN to connect.  In a moment, it will say Connected.

You can go to http://www.whatismyip.com to see that your IP has changed to the country you connected to.

Disconnect from a VPN server

To disconnect from the VPN server tap on the VPN and tap Disconnect.
